The management team of college of health technology Zawang has paid a courtesy visit to Jos south TIC Chairman, Hon. Peter Vwang Dung on Wednesday in his office at the local government Secretariat Bukuru.
Introducing the Provost and other management team members, deputy provost of the college, Mr Atang Ishaku praised the new Provost of the college who was appointed just three months ago but he has performed wonderfully well.
The new Provost of the college who led the delegation, Dr. Jonathan Bulus, appreciated the chairman for given them audience to visit him even in his tight engagements.
The Provost said it became necessary for the management team to visit the chairman to introduce themselves to him especially the Provost who came to the institution newly and to inform him of the happenings in the college.
He said when he took over as the new Provost, he realized some challenges in the institution such as insecurity, water and electricity. He did his best by providing clean water and solar lights but unfortunately the water pump was stolen because of security challenge in the college.
The Provost said, in addressing one of the insecurity challenge, they decided to commence the fencing of the institution which has existed without fence but were confronted with another bigger challenge from land owners who claimed that they did not sell other parts of the land to the college.
He asked for the Chairman's intervention by calling the attention of the land owners so that they can settle the issue to enable them continue with the fencing of the college to reduce crime rate.
Dr. Jonathan further informed the chairman that when the institution is well secured, they have plans to build an ICT center that would help them in some programs in the institution such as exams, researches and generation of revenue for the college when the center is rented to Jamb for exams.
In his response, Hon. Peter Vwang Dung welcomed the management team to the local government and appreciated them for deeming it fit to visit him.
He Congratulated the new Provost on his recent appointment by his Excellency, Governnor Caleb Mutfwang and also applauded him for starting well in line with “the time is now” mantra.
Hon. Vwang Dung vows to assist them tackle the insecurity in the institution especially the one with land owners for the smooth running of the institution.
The chairman asked them to support the governor so that more and more developments can come to the institution as it is being experienced by other institutions.
He told them not to hesitate to visit him whenever they have any challenge in the college. He lastly inform team to consider the Local government in their employment exercise.
