The Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Barr Caleb Mutfwang has commissioned fleets of buses for Plateau Express Services to ease transportation in the State.

Commissioning the Buses on Tuesday in Jos, Governor Mutfwang, represented by his deputy, Hon. Josephine Piyo, said the move represents a critical step in his administration’s relentless pursuit of a robust and improved transport network in the State.

He said the introduction of a mobile booking app and other technology in the transport sector represents a leap in embracing digital technology to enhance productivity.

“These modern buses which are equipped with state-of-the-art tracking systems, ensuring passenger safety, and providing real-time monitoring of their locations will provide reliable and comfortable transportation options for commuters traveling between Jos and Abuja, contributing to increased mobility and economic activities in both cities.

“The establishment of Plateau Express Logistics, a subsidiary of Plateau Express Services underscores our administration’s commitment toward providing efficient and effective logistics solutions. The advanced tracking systems for the fleet of vehicles will employ cutting-edge technology to optimise route planning, minimise delivery times, and ensure the secure and timely transportation of goods.

''It will play a crucial role in supporting businesses, industries, and individuals in Plateau State,”.

The Governor said that the Rebirth Project also reflects his administration’s recognition of the importance of modernising and improving transportation infrastructure and highlights commitment to supporting initiatives that promote economic growth, job creation, and improved quality of life for the people.

Earlier, the General Manager, Plateau Express Services, Hon. Samuel Gwot, said that the commissioning of (20) Sienna Buses to run Jos-Abuja routes and the launch of the Mobile Booking App was a testament to the Caleb Mutfwang-led administration to revamping the transport sector in Plateau State.

Gwot said that the Rebirth campaign has brought about ongoing rebranding efforts aimed at refreshing the agency’s corporate image and aligning it with modern market trends with a corporate website that reflects a forward-looking approach, enhancing accessibility and operational efficiency.

He stated that Plateau express has trained its drivers and manned their vehicles with security features, speed limiters, and the introduction of a Mobile Booking Application to enhance customer experience and streamline

 booking processes.
